The Samira Musah Lab is seeking a Research Associate who will provide technical expertise and oversight of an active research lab in the area of stem cell engineering and mechanistic studies of human disease, jointly in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Medicine (Division of Nephrology). Specific weekly tasks to include research project and team management, training lab members, procurement activities, maintaining lab equipment and protocols. Key features of this role include (1) strong experience in molecular biology, cell biology, pathology, genetics or a related field, and basic knowledge of bioengineering or tissue engineering principles, (2) Proficiency in cellular and molecular biology with basic concepts of organ development, immunology, and genome engineering, (3) a solid understanding of basic biology, molecular biology, chemistry, physiology, and statistics. A key mission of the Musah lab is fostering an interdisciplinary team focused on developing stem cell-based technologies to understand the mechanisms of organ development and function, and how these processes are affected in disease.
