The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor specializing in biomedical optics, to begin as soon as possible. Qualifications include a PhD in biomedical or electrical engineering, physics, or optics, and demonstrated research accomplishments as demonstrated by significant published scholarship. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, possess strong training in optics, and have a successful track record of grant funding. Candidates with experience in optical coherence tomography, scanning laser ophthalmoscopy and other forms of ophthalmic imaging will be given priority. Assistant Research Professors are expected to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, participate in conferences for the intellectual exchange of research ideas, engage in existing and new collaborations within and outside Duke University, and assist with training of undergraduate and graduate students.
