The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University, https://psychandneuro.duke.edu, invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor (tenured) position in Developmental Psychology to begin Fall 2020.

We seek outstanding applicants with a nationally-recognized and externally-fundable research program in Developmental Psychology. The specific research area is open, but our preference is for a candidate whose primary interest is basic processes of cognitive and/or social development (rather than applied or clinical). The ideal candidate will also be an effective teacher at the undergraduate and graduate levels and will supervise Ph.D. students as a member of the developmental graduate training area (and potentially other areas) in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. Duke offers a rich intellectual climate, and the faculty member could have additional affiliations with the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, the Social Science Research Institute, and/or the Carolina Consortium on Human Development.

Applications should provide:

• curriculum vitae, • statements of research and teaching interests and • three selected reprints/preprints.

Applicants may also, optionally, submit a cover letter indicating why they believe the Duke Psychology and Neuroscience department is a good fit for them, and/or a statement describing any efforts they have made or plan to make to encourage diversity and inclusion in their research, teaching, or other academic activities.

Letters of recommendation will be requested only for candidates whom we wish to consider further.

Upload the application online at academicjobsonline.org. Applications received by November 15, 2019 will be guaranteed consideration, but applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. The start date for the position is August 2020 (or as soon thereafter as possible). Inquiries can be sent to michael.tomasello@duke.edu.
