Position Description:    

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Degree at the time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2020. Specialization in the area of Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, Power, or Controls. Potential for effective teaching at the college level. Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research and scholarly activity. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level. Experience in teaching courses in the area of Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, Power, or Controls. Demonstrated ability to supervise student projects, develop programs and curriculum, and supervise students’ theses. Active participation in academic governance.

Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in, or related to Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, Power, or Controls, as well as fundamental Electrical Engineering courses. Develop curriculum, supervise graduate students’ theses. Develop an ongoing research program which complements and enhances research activities in Electrical Engineering and leads to publications and external funding. Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community as appropriate.
