Position Description:    

Stony Brook University’s Department of Hispanic Languages and Literature invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Latin American/Hispanic Art and/or US Latinx Art, beginning Fall 2020. We are looking for scholars with a demonstrated interest in the global circulation of culture, emphasizing Transatlantic and transnational approaches to the art of Latin America/Spain/the Latinx US in any historical period. Essential to this position is the ability to build bridges between art history, visual culture and literary/cultural studies. Candidates should have a PhD in hand, a strong research record, excellent teaching credentials and native or near native proficiency in Spanish. The person hired will be expected to teach at all levels, including graduate and advanced undergraduate seminars, gateway courses toward the major in Spanish and general education courses in English.
