Position Description:

The University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) high energy theory group anticipates having several postdoctoral research positions commencing in the Fall of 2020. The appointments are for two-year terms with possible extension to a third year. We are seeking candidates with research interests in lattice field theory and quantum information, including (but not limited to) lattice QCD calculations for flavor and neutrino physics, as well as quantum simulations for theories of interest in high energy physics. The faculty working in the areas of interest are Aida El-Khadra and Patrick Draper.

Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a statement of research interests, and arrange to have three letters of reference uploaded. In order to receive full consideration, applications should be submitted through Academic Jobs Online by December 1, 2019.

Please note that the Illinois high energy theory group is also seeking applicants for postdoctoral positions in other research areas, for which there are two additional advertisements posted on Academic Jobs Online. Applicants with research interests in physics beyond the Standard Model and related topics, including dark matter, astroparticle physics, and early-universe cosmology, should submit their applications to the UIUC HEPPH posting. Applicants specializing in string theory, gauge-gravity duality, and quantum information should submit their application to the QGQI posting.
