Position Description:    

Boston University Metropolitan College seeks to fill a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting July or September 1, 2020, for the graduate program in Arts Administration (http://www.bu.edu/met/academic-community/departments/arts-administration/). The department believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have expertise in the visual arts and an advanced degree(s) in one or more of the following areas: Visual Arts, Museology, Art History, Theater, Organizational Management, Public Administration, Arts Leadership, Art Business, or Cultural Entrepreneurship, or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in arts administration; 3-5 years experience teaching at the university level and a national reputation in the field as either an artist/practitioner or scholar/researcher. We welcome applications from candidates with professional and industry experience in addition to the terminal degree.

Responsibilities: Faculty duties include teaching up to six courses at the graduate level per academic year, conducting active research, participating in course and curriculum development, and mentoring part-time faculty and students, as well as providing service to the department, college and the university. This is a full-time non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a 2-5 year renewable contract. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
