The SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING at CORNELL
UNIVERSITY, Ithaca, New York, is seeking exceptional candidates with expertise
in optimization, control, and/or machine learning to join our lab as a
postdoctoral researcher. The position will focus in part on the development of
novel optimization, control, and learning methods to guide the integration of
wind and solar renewable energy resources into existing power grids while
minimizing impacts to carbon and biodiversity assets. Data-driven approaches
will be employed to compensate for the highly stochastic and unpredictable
nature of renewable resources and optimize the power grid performance in real
time. Applicants are expected to have an established publication record, and to have obtained or be in the process of obtaining a PhD. Successful candidates will participate in research activities led by Professor Eilyan Bitar and Professor Francesca Parise.
