The Department of Art and Art History at Colgate University welcomes applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in Painting and Drawing, beginning fall semester 2020; ability to teach printmaking a plus. The successful candidate will teach courses in painting and drawing that introduce the mediums within a curriculum that integrates contemporary as well as foundational discourses and practices. Applicants should be prepared to teach beginning and advanced courses in Painting and Drawing, as well as an introductory studio course spanning theory and practice across artistic media. The Visiting Assistant Professor in Painting and Drawing may also advise senior studio art theses. Completion of the MFA is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The teaching load is 5 courses over the year.
