Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in theoretical condensed matter physics. The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in condensed-matter theory and will work in the group of Mark Dykman in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University. She or he will participate in the research of spin qubits based on electrons on the helium surface. The key issues will be the decoherence mechanisms, quantum gate operations on spin-based qubits, and the dynamics of periodically driven systems of coupled qubits, including topological effects. The initial appointment will be for one year, but is renewable for an additional year. Close collaboration with the group of Professor Stephen Lyon (Princeton University) as well as the quantum group at Google is envisioned.
