The University of Massachusetts is seeking a highly motivated MR physicist at the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology. A successful candidate will have a track record of clinical translation of MR acquisition protocols and analysis techniques. Desired is experience with novel acquisition protocols and use of artificial intelligence algorithms for automated analysis of MRI data. Given our role as a leading academic medical center using gene therapy to treat rare neurodegenerative diseases, a track record of MR imaging applications in the area of image-guided neurosurgery and segmentation of deep brain structures on diagnostic follow-up are highly desired. UMASS Medical School has a 3T whole body research scanner and is presently installing a 7T small bore animal instrument immediately adjacent to a preclinical PET/CT system. A successful candidate will be required to help operate these core facilities. A track record of high impact scholarly activity and extramural funding are desired.
