Position Description: |
Applications are invited for a joint postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Hautes Énergies (LPTHE, principal host) and at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris (IAP), Sorbonne Université, Paris. The contract will start in the fall of 2021 or earlier and last two years, with the possibility of a one year extension upon mutual agreement and availability of funding. The postdoc must hold a PhD before the appointment begins. The position offers a competitive salary and is endowed with generous travel and computing money. It is funded with the grant "New paths to High Energy" of the initiative "Physique des Infinis" of Sorbonne Université, PI Filippo Sala (LPTHE), co-PI Joe Silk (IAP). Frequent scientific interactions are foreseen with (astro)particle physicists and cosmologists at the many labs in the Paris region. We seek a postdoc with an excellent background in quantum field theory and in the standard model, and whose research experience includes cosmology and/or astro-particle physics.
