Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor in Politics, with a focus on political theory, for the 2021-2022 academic year. The teaching load is five courses plus thesis reading for the year, to include Introduction to Political Theory and four elective courses in an area of the candidate’s interest and expertise. The department is particularly interested in candidates with an ability to teach specialized political theory courses such as feminist theory and, ideally, interdisciplinary courses on topics such as transitional justice, religion, migration, and/or citizenship. Evidence of teaching ability is required. Preference will be given to applicants with a commitment to the College’s goal of improving higher education for underrepresented students.
