ASSOCIATE IN RESEARCH
Duke University, Department of Biomedical Engineering seeks to hire a highly-motivated individual to join the Grill Lab to pursue neural engineering research in a highly supportive and collaborative environment. Our goal is to advance bioelectronic medicines: electrical stimulation, block, and recording of the nervous system for disease treatment and restoration of function.
The successful applicant will support ongoing research by conducting quantitative behavioral studies, conducting electrophysiological recordings, providing specialized care for preclinical experimental models, and analyzing and presenting data for reports and publications. They will also engage in projects involving novel computational modeling developments and design questions, as well as analyses of electrophysiological data.
The successful applicant will:
• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or Computer Science
• Be familiar with neural biophysics and the fundamental principles of neural engineering
• Have research experience
• Have strong informal and formal written and oral communication skills
• Be capable of balancing independent research progress with collaboration and team work, as appropriate
