The Xenon MRI Shared Resource (https://sites.duke.edu/driehuyslab/) at Duke University is recruiting an Analyst/Programmer I to support magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research using hyperpolarized xenon gas imaging, a specialized technique for obtaining high-resolution 3D images of lung function. Our team is advancing this state of the art technology to ultimately help improve the care of patients with a wide range of pulmonary diseases.
The Analyst/Programmer will play an integral role in building and maintaining our suite of image analysis tools, developing and validating new software, and assisting with ongoing data analysis, archiving, and retrieval. Primary responsibilities will include updating code for our existing end-to-end image analysis pipelines and developing new scripts and tools to automate and streamline workflows and processes. The position will support a wide range of technical aspects of day-to-day lab operations and will also have opportunity for larger projects in image analysis, reconstruction, and quantification. Candidates should be versatile, creative, and enthusiastic about scientific research.
Work Performed - Key Responsibilities:
Implement and document change requests and bug fixes to each of our 4 image quantification pipelines using Python 3.0
Manage code version control via git repositories for each analysis pipeline and for other tools and scripts
Programming and scripting to streamline and automate various aspects of image analysis and data retrieval
Develop capabilities to program in Siemens ICE image post-processing environment.
Develop and maintain scripts needed to read raw data from a variety of MRI scanner platforms and software revisions – Siemens, GE, Philips.
Assist in operating hyperpolarization equipment and ongoing image analysis as needed
