Duke’s Nicholas School of Environment in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a Research Scientist with experience in quantitative modeling of the atmosphere, climate, and/or energy system, ideally using an Integrated Assessment Model (IAM). The associate will work to advance efforts to incorporate results from detailed modeling of the climate system and atmospheric composition into an IAM, and to include the effects of public health and agricultural impacts of climate and composition change into economic impact analyses.

The candidate must have a PhD in a related field, be fluent in computer programming, preferably including python, and have extensive experience in numerical modeling. The candidate should be capable of working independently and collaboratively and have an excellent command of English. The researcher will be expected to prepare results for peer reviewed journals. The position will be supervised by Dr. Drew Shindell (https://nicholas.duke.edu/people/faculty/shindell). Travel to domestic conferences on an annual basis. Potential collaboration with US EPA researchers in nearby Research Triangle Park.

This is a 2 month appointment. Position is available starting immediately.
