Tenure Track Faculty Position – Basic and/or Translational Reproductive Biology Research

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY is seeking exceptional tenure-track faculty at any academic rank who are using genetic, genomic, epigenomic, molecular, cell biological, physiological and/or animal modeling approaches to understand mechanisms underlying reproductive biology necessary for development of healthy offspring. Investigators whose research has an applied component addressing animal conservation or contraception are strongly encouraged to apply. Topics of study may include but are not limited to pathways involved in ovarian or testes development, germ line formation, meiosis, recombination, gametogenesis, fertilization, embryo implantation and development, parturition and endocrine control of these processes. The position affords the opportunity for 75% research, 20% teaching and 5% service. Individuals with clinical activities may be candidates for joint appointments within the College of Veterinary Medicine or Weill Cornell Medicine (in New York City).

Faculty in the Department of Biomedical Sciences are strongly funded through various agencies including NIH, DoD and multiple private foundations, as well as internal awards from centers at Cornell University. Faculty conduct research using whole organism approaches to understand both normal physiology and disease mechanisms, leveraging a wide range of molecular, single cell, genomic, and biochemical approaches in their research. We are a highly interactive group, with a strong history of funded collaborations with Weill Cornell Medicine, including ongoing multi-investigator federal grants and joint appointments. The Department of Biomedical Sciences serves as a home for many campus-wide Centers, including the Center for Reproductive Genomics, the Stem Cell Program and the Center for Vertebrate Genomics with additional informal working groups arising in areas including single cell genomics, and DNA replication, recombination and repair, and others.

Cornell University is committed to enhancing faculty hiring and paving the way to new discovery. The university has outstanding research resources for genomics, microscopy, flow cytometry, computational biology, proteomics and metabolomics, as well as a genomics innovation hub. We offer substantial startup funds, competitive salaries and a generous benefit package.
