Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (known as Fermilab) seeks highly qualified candidates for one Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Neutrino Division and the Theoretical Physics Department. The selected candidate is expected to conduct their primary research on modeling and simulating neutrino-nucleus scattering events using state-of-the-art theoretical models.

Fermilab has a strong and exciting research program with major commitments to a diverse range of neutrino experiments including MicroBooNE, MINERvA, SBND, ICARUS, NOvA, and DUNE. The Theoretical Physics Department research program includes neutrino physics, perturbative QCD, lattice QCD, Higgs and flavor physics, collider phenomenology, and physics beyond the standard model. Every effort will be made to design the research program and maintain support for a Fermilab Research Associate so that she/he has the opportunity to produce physics results.

The position is for a period of up to three (3) years. Qualifications and Essential Job Functions

· Ph.D. in theoretical or experimental particle physics, or a closely related field by the time of the appointment

· Demonstrated experience in conducting independent theoretical or experimental particle-physics research

· Programing experience in C++ and Fortran

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills

· Experience with particle physics event generators, preferred

· Experience developing simulations and ability to handle large codes, preferred

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Creative and independent problem-solving skills

· Willingness to work collaboratively on a diverse team

· Respect, understand, and value individual differences that embody the principles of diversity

· Abide by all environment, safety, and health regulations
