Position Description:

To perform a variety of technical tasks related to the installation, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and related systems at the Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory (TUNL). To perform repairs on electronic equipment to include timing circuits, pulse generators, amplifiers, current integrators, Klystron modulators, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and process controllers. To perform assigned tasks in the installation and maintenance of acceleratory related systems to include vacuum gauges, vacuum pumps, helium leak detectors, cooling systems, and radiation warning devices. To design and construct experimental electronic circuitry, prepare ink drawings of circuits and charts. To provide technical assistance to faculty and outside researchers as requested. To learn the operations of accelerators and systems, such as ion sources, in a safe and reliable manner under the supervision of TUNL faculty and staff. To order equipment and supplies used in assigned tasks. To perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
