Postdoctoral Position in Neutrino Physics at Oregon State University

The Experimental Neutrino group at Oregon State University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position on the protoDUNE, DUNE and MINERvA neutrino experiments.

The successful candidate will participate the development of novel computing infrastructure for the upcoming ProtoDUNE run at CERN and the future  DUNE neutrino experiment in the US and in analysis of data from ProtoDUNE and/or the MINERvA neutrino cross-section experiment at Fermilab. Both protoDUNE and DUNE are large liquid Argon Time Projection chambers which produce detailed images of hadron and neutrino interactions ranging in size from 170 MB (protoDUNE) to 400 TB (DUNE supernova).  Computational challenges range from algorithms for processing of very small signals from low energy neutrino interactions, through simulation of the unique environment in large liquid detectors, to large-scale distributed computing across over 30 collaborating sites worldwide. See https://inspirehep.net/literature/1791807 for some details of the DUNE project.

Oregon State University is located in Corvallis, OR. Candidates have the option of being located in Corvallis or at Fermilab in Batavia IL.

Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae and list of publications and arrange for at least three letters of reference to be sent via academicjobsonline to
