TEACHING FACULTY POSITIONS OPEN IN THE ILLINOIS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure-track teaching faculty positions at the Senior Instructor or Senior Lecturer ranks, beginning August 2021. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, both for majors and for non-majors. Particular areas of interest are Programming Languages, Theory, Cybersecurity, and AI. Candidates must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field and preferably at least two years of teaching experience.

Successful candidates will have experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching and developing instructional materials in computer science. We seek individuals who have a genuine interest in teaching and curriculum development and dedication to student success. The selected candidate’s faculty appointment title will be determined by the Department, in its sole discretion, and be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

The Department offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Professional Master, and Ph.D. degrees in computer science, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, and has over 1000 students. The Department is in a significant growth phase, actively hiring faculty and developing diverse interdisciplinary research and education programs. It also has strong and growing partnerships with Chicago’s burgeoning tech community and our local communities of Bronzeville and Bridgeport.
