Salary Range:                          Commensurate with qualifications and experience

                                               

 

Required Qualifications:       

·         Ph.D. in Geography or related field with specialization in physical geography, biogeography, water resources, or a closely related environmental science. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2022.

·         Demonstrated or potential ability for effective teaching in Geography undergraduate and graduate-level courses

·         Demonstrated or potential ability to generate funding for research and student support

·         Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:      

·         Demonstrated expertise in field methods for data collection and research

·         Specialization in quantitative methods

·         Successful grant-seeking record with established ties to research institutions, industry or government agencies

 

Duties:                                   

·         Teach courses at both lower and upper division in our geography and environmental science and policy programs, and at the graduate levels in our master’s degree programs. Teaching assignments may also include courses in biogeography, California ecosystems, water resources, watershed management, environmental assessment, environmental science and policy capstone, multi-variate or spatial statistics as well as general education courses in natural science, or other specialty courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]

·         Advise student research and engage undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activities

·         Engage and develop extramurally funded research program

·         Maintain and produce research, scholarly and creative activities leading to publications

·         Collaborate on curriculum development

·         Engage in professional activities

·         Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community
