The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a visiting scholar in Native American History (or a related subfield of Native American Studies) for the 2021-2022 academic year. This position will support the Institute’s ongoing efforts to research its history as a land-grant university, and its historical and contemporary connections to Native American communities. The successful candidate for this full-time, one-year appointment must have completed all the requirements for a Ph.D. in History (or a related field) by the time of appointment. MIT anticipates a full return to on-campus, in-person instruction by Fall 2021.
