The group ANTARES/KM3NeT at IFIC (Valencia, Spain) offers a 4-year Ph.D. fellowship to work in the experiment KM3NeT (http://km3net.org) to work on the search for dark matter with the experiments KM3NeT and ANTARES.
IFIC (Instituto de Física Corpuscular, http://webific.ific.uv.es/web/en) is the largest particle physics research center in Spain and was recognized by the Program "Severo Ochoa Centers of Excellence".
The ANTARES-KM3NeT group at IFIC has a long experience in both experiments, located in the Mediterranean Sea. Our group has led the main analyses on dark matter in these collaborations and coordinated the corresponding working groups in them.
The first 12 lines of KM3NeT are already taking data and more will be deployed in the following months, which will allow us to explore new possibilities in the dark matter field, for which neutrino telescopes have specific advantages.
The candidate would start his/her Ph.D. work at the University of Valencia in the academic year 2021/2022. He/she should have completed his/her grade studies after 1/1/2016 in a centre from outside the European Union. Excellent academic record, high motivation and good computing skills are required. |
