Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociology with a scholarly focus and teaching responsibilities to include Sociology of Education and Qualitative Methods. We are particularly interested in candidates working with issues pertaining to the Chicanx/Latinx community. Additional preferences include Urban Sociology or Organizations, Occupations and Work. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research and is expected to regularly teach a writing intensive seminar for first-year students. A Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment.
