Candidates are sought for appointment as an Academic Professional in GSU’s Department of Computer Science to assist with managing the Department’s teaching laboratories and projects. Further, the successful candidate will facilitate external relations with industry partners and support administrative activities in the Department. This position will report to the Department Chair and will oversee many internal and outreach strategic initiatives of the Department, including the management of Senior Design Projects; development of stakeholder and company relationships to facilitate the Department’s vision; coordination of activities of the Department’s Industrial Advisory Board (IAB); serving as project manager for diverse departmental initiatives; and limited teaching of appropriate courses. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Applicants should have experience in teaching or mentorship and the support of laboratory infrastructure. Successful candidates will help oversee curricular laboratory offerings, facilitate interdisciplinary partnerships, and assist in activities to develop an industry-relevant curriculum. The successful applicant will join a department of faculty and staff who are committed to innovative teaching; diverse, equitable, and inclusive excellence; and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Academic Professional appointment is in a 12-month non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance in this position through promotion to higher ranks.
