Duke University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position focused on theoretical study of novel Bayesian inference methods. The research will focus on asymptotic frequentist behavior of semiparametric Bayesian methods in heavy tailed density estimation and quantile regression. The position will be supervised by Professor Surya Tokdar.

Candidates are expected to have a PhD in statistics or a related field, and (ideally) to have experience in Bayesian theoretical calculations in the asymptotic setting with necessary background in probability theory and analysis. There will be opportunity to engage in applied work and computational and methodological development. In addition, candidates will be able to work with other Duke faculty on related topics and to travel to academic conferences to present research findings.
