Post Doctoral Scholar

The Department of Physics at Lehigh University seeks applicants for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the field of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion physics. The successful candidate will work with Professors Rosi Reed and Anders Knospe on the design, construction and commissioning of the sPHENIX Event Plane Detector (sEPD) for the sPHENIX experiment at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The successful candidate will conduct research and analyze either STAR data or sPHENIX simulated data. Responsibilities include data analysis and publication of results, collaboration service work, mentoring students, and support of the Lehigh Relativistic Heavy Ion Group's research activities. Occasional travel to Brookhaven will be required. The term of the position will be 2 years. 

Experience in the field of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion physics is required. Candidates with a strong background in hardware are preferred. The successful candidate should have completed the requirements for a Ph.D. degree by the time of appointment.
