The Gerecht Lab is relocating to Duke University in Jan 2022 and is looking for a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct applied research and development in the area of vascular engineering, materials sciences, and stem cell biology. The majority of the candidate’s focus will be on studying induced pluripotent differentiation to vascular derivatives and their regenerative capacity. This work will be completed as part of our multidisciplinary team studying the interactions between cells and their microenvironments with the long-term goal of understanding how the microenvironment guides vascular differentiation, migration, morphogenesis, homeostasis, repair, and function toward controlling these processes in healthy and diseased tissues in regenerative medicine and cancer. This position is available starting Jan 1, 2022, with a 1-year term and opportunity for additional annual renewal contingent on performance and funding availability.

Minimum Requirements:

-Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Life sciences, or another related field and have significant research experience in stem cells.

-Expert knowledge of tissue culture, molecular biology, and protein biochemistry.

-Experience with stem cell work.

-Knowledge of animal models or in vivo studies.
