The Departments of Chemistry and Physics at New York University (NYU) invite applications for two tenure-track faculty positions as Simons Foundation Faculty Fellows in Computational Physical Chemistry, subject to administrative and budgetary approval. Broad areas of research involving computational and theoretical studies of physical phenomena in molecular sciences will be considered.

Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics or related fields and demonstrate the potential to do pioneering research and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The positions are anticipated to be in the Department of Chemistry at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with the possibility of a joint appointment with the NYU Department of Physics. The Department of Physics has a broad and distinguished program including the Center for Quantum Phenomena, the Center for Soft Matter Research and the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics, with many opportunities for cross-cutting research with Chemistry. Faculty in both departments participate in significant interdisciplinary programs within the Washington Square campus and at NYU’s engineering and medical schools. Successful candidates will also have opportunities for engaging in scholarly activities at its overseas campuses in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi.
