Open Ture Track Faculty Position Integrated Systems Engineering

The Department of Integrated Systems (ISE) at The Ohio State University, one of the nation’s top public universities, invites applications for a regular tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor to begin as soon January 3, 2022.

College Overview: The College of Engineering offers 14 undergraduate and 13 graduate programs in 12 departments or centers, as well as, three undergraduate and four graduate degrees in the Knowlton School of Architecture, to approximately 10,000 students. The college has recently expanded its degree offerings with a BS in Engineering Technology available on the regional campuses of the university. The college is one of the largest in the field with 405 faculty. The college has 14 National Academy of Engineering members and numerous members of societies and award recipients. In fiscal year 2020, the college had nearly $138.5 million in externally sponsored research expenditures. Industry R&D expenditures for the College of Engineering in fiscal year 2020 totaled nearly $44 million. The Department of Integrated Systems Engineering offers degrees in industrial and systems engineering (B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.). These degrees focus on the design, operation and management of complex systems, providing students with a blend of technical, management and human-centered design skills. The department has faculty doing cutting edge research in human systems integration, operations research, and manufacturing. The department has 50 faculty and staff, and graduates about 150 undergraduates and 30 graduate students per year.

TIU/Position Overview:

The faculty member will teach 3 courses per year for undergraduate and graduate students. Specific teaching roles include engineering economy, engineering management, and production planning/facility layout. The faculty member will also be expected to support a robust research program that compliments the EmPowerment research and traineeship efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Successful applicants should hold the following qualifications: • PhD from an accredited college or university and a degree in an engineering Industrial Systems Engineering or Engineering Management. • Expertise in Energy Systems, Modeling, and Analysis • Experience teaching engineering economy • Able to effectively teach many undergraduate and graduate ISE courses • Able to teach effectively in engineering management programs • Active engagement with appropriate professional organizations.
