General Information 

The new Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University invites applications for non tenure-track instructional positions in the areas of computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering at the rank of instructor or instructional assistant professor.  Exceptionally well-qualified candidates with substantial teaching and/or supporting industry experience will be considered for appointment at an advanced rank (instructional associate or full professor).

Qualifications 

A M.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is required for appointment at the rank of instructor. A Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, computational science, data science, software engineering, or electrical engineering is required for all professor ranks. Whereas we welcome applicants from all disciplines within these fields, preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds and teaching experience in algorithm analysis, data structures, database systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, cyberethics, computer networks, robotics, hardware design, electronics and circuits, computer programming, and modeling and simulation. All candidates must have a history of successful teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level. Industry experience in the candidate’s field of expertise is preferred. 

Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will teach 8 courses per year. These courses may include: Computer Science I (CPSC 230), Computer Science II (CPSC 231), Computer Networks (CPSC 353), Robotics (CPSC 260), Digital Logic (CPSC 330), Data Structures and Algorithms (CPSC350), Computer Architecture (CPSC 351), Artificial Intelligence (CPSC 390), Data Science (CPSC 392), Electronics and Circuits (EE 200/300), Cybersecurity (CPSC454), and Systems Programming (CENG 231), among others.
