Associate in Research

The laboratory of Prof. Mikhail Nikiforov at the Departments of Pathology and Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, Durham, NC has an Associate in Research position open in January 2022.

Job Description:

Under general supervision plan, develop, modify, and implement previously developed and original experimental procedures in a research laboratory.

Responsibilities include:

1. Confer with principal investigator in the planning, developing, and implementation of research projects

2. Implement experimental techniques for tissue, cell, protein, RNA, and DNA samples utilized in complex laboratory procedures

3. Prepare detailed reports on the results of experiments; discuss with principal investigator the interpretation of the results and collaborate in the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication

4. Maintain facilities and equipment supplies

5. Train lower level technical personnel, assist in training undergraduate and graduate students

Degree requirements: BS, MS or PhD with a major in the biological and/or physical sciences.
