The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the area of quantum engineering, broadly defined. We seek outstanding candidates with research interests in theoretical and/or experimental quantum science and technology. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to: quantum communication, quantum computation, quantum sensing, and quantum simulation. More experienced senior candidates in the midst of transformative research projects and with particular experience in building institutional equity across their fields may also be considered. The position is part of the new Rice Quantum Initiative that will significantly expand our already strong quantum program (quantum.rice.edu). With multiple faculty involved in quantum materials, quantum devices, quantum chemistry, and quantum algorithms, Rice considers these areas as focal points of quantum research in the coming decade.

A Ph.D. degree is required for the application, which must be fulfilled by November 1 of the year employment commences. The successful applicant will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and build a successful research program. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. Application Instructions
