Clinical Track Assistant Professor

The Division of Health Behavior and Health Promotion in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University invites applicants for a clinical track (non-tenure earning) Assistant Professor. This is a 9-month appointment, and the faculty member will be responsible annually for teaching 5-6 undergraduate and graduate courses online as well as in-person. In addition, this individual will participate in advising undergraduate and MPH students, serve on College committees, provide mentorship to PhD students teaching sections of undergraduate courses, and assist with the development of new undergraduate/graduate courses.

 Qualifications

A Ph.D. in public health with a specialization in behavioral and social science, or a closely related degree with public health or practice experience, is required. The faculty member should have a record of successful independent teaching of undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity. Those with research and/or applied practice experience are strongly encouraged to apply; however, it is not the expectation that the candidate will be active in research.

 About the College

The College of Public Health is Ohios first accredited college of public health. First established in 1995 as part of the College of Medicine, the University Board of Trustees created the College of Public Health in 2007. In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked Ohio States College of Public Health graduate program 24th of all Schools of Public Health. It is one of seven health sciences colleges on the same campus, more than any other university in the U.S. The college includes five academic divisions, two centers of outreach and engagement, four graduate degree programs with several specializations, and an undergraduate degree with two specializations, and two undergraduate minors. Specializations within the college include biostatistics, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, health services management and policy, veterinary public health, biomedical informatics, and clinical and translational science, and population health management and leadership.
