Position description The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for a professorial appointment at William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute (FTPI). Candidates with distinguished scholarly accomplishments in theoretical physics (with focus on high-energy physics) will be considered. The appointment is expected to be at the Full Professor level, with additional research opportunities provided by the FTPI affiliation.

The University of Minnesota has a strong and well-supported theoretical high energy physics group pursuing topics in field theory, phenomenology, astroparticle physics, mathematical physics, and cosmology. Collaboration with FTPI’s Condensed Matter group is welcome. The start date for this position is negotiable and could be as early as August 31, 2022.

Qualifications Ph.D. in physics or related field. Must have established a vigorous and significant research program and leadership qualities in their area as evidenced by their publication record and supporting letters from recognized leaders in the field. The ability to teach physics effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels is required. The candidate should be dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, and should be committed to working well with others.
