Associate Professor or Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering The P.C. Rossin College
of Engineering and Applied Science at Lehigh University seeks to fill an open
rank tenure-track position in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering (ECE, https://engineering.lehigh.edu/ece) with a
possibility of joint appointment(s) in other departments. We welcome
applications from qualified individuals at all faculty ranks, including
consideration of tenure at initial appointment for senior candidates.
Applicants are required to have a doctorate in a relevant field and should have
demonstrated an outstanding record of research and scholarship and a clear
commitment to students and learning. We seek candidates who
will develop strong research programs, contribute to our educational mission,

from candidates with research experience and interests in the area of photonic and nanoelectronic devices and
systems, in a broad range of topics including, but not limited to,
integrated photonics (novel lasers and detectors, silicon nanophotonics,
metamaterials, plasmonics), semiconductor device technologies (compound
semiconductor devices including III-Nitrides, high-frequency devices, power
electronics, wearable electronics), opto/nano/micro-electronic sensors, quantum-effect
devices including those based on 2D materials, molecular/organic electronics,
with applications in areas as diverse as communications, computing including
quantum-computers, cyber-physical systems, security, clean energy, health,
biology among others. The applicants are expected to have a strong emphasis on
experimental research such that they could potentially be active users of one
or more of Lehigh’s well-equipped user facilities including those for
nanofabrication, III-Nitride semiconductor growth, and device/material
characterization (https://ifmd.lehigh.edu/facilities). The candidate will join a
growing interdisciplinary group of faculty members at Lehigh University working
in related areas (https://www.lehigh.edu/~incpn/, https://ifmd.lehigh.edu/)
and will also be expected to teaching core engineering courses in ECE. The
Rossin College consists of eight departments, twelve research-based M.S. and
Ph.D. programs, ten professional master’s programs, and twelve undergraduate
programs. The college also has multiple cross-college honors programs with the
College of Business and with the College of Arts and Sciences. The College
faculty includes approximately 130 tenure-track and 20 teaching faculty
members. The student body includes approximately 2,000 undergraduate students
and 800 graduate students. The College has broad-based research activities across
numerous areas of scholarly excellence and is focused on diversity, equity, and
