# Postdoc positions ERC-AdG YoctoLHC YoctoLHC-postdoc-2022

The IGFAE at the University of Santiago de Compostela anticipates filling two or more postdoctoral positions within the ERC Advanced Grant project “Yoctosecond imaging of QCD collectivity using jet observables”. Initial appointments will be for two years with possible extensions to a third year. The project focuses on the phenomenology of jets and parton distributions in the initial stages of nucleus-nucleus, proton-nucleus and proton-proton collisions at the LHC and aims to understand the dynamics that drive these systems rapidly into an equilibrated QCD medium. Candidates with expertise in QCD jets and parton showers, jet quenching, small-x physics, CGC, Monte-Carlo simulations and related topics as well as in quantum simulations in high-energy and nuclear physics are especially encouraged to apply.

The local team at IGFAE includes Nestor Armesto, Elena Ferreiro, Carlos A. Salgado and Bin Wu; Fabio Dominguez, Miguel A. Escobedo, Tan Luo, Andrey Sadofyev and Yair Mulian, as well as several PhD students. Frequent visits to the LIP in Lisbon and the University of Jyvaskyla and other research centers are expected for the successful candidates, as well as the possibility to help supervise PhD students.

The deadline for application is December 10th 2021 and successful candidates are expected to start in fall 2022, although earlier starting dates are possible as well.

A curriculum vitae, including a list of publications, a statement of research interest and three reference letters are requested. Applications should be made through Academic Jobs Online
