The Department of Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics in the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Lehigh University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in solid mechanics. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong background in experimental or theoretical/computational aspects in one or more areas of solid mechanics, including, but not limited to: micro/nano‐scale solid mechanics, soft-matter mechanics, soft-robotics, mechanics of materials for renewable marine or wind energy applications, energy production/storage, and additive manufacturing. Multidisciplinary research programs are an important priority at Lehigh University, and include strong interactions with government agencies, industry, and existing interdisciplinary research institutes (IRIs) on campus.
