The Neutrino Physics and Astrophysics Group (GEFAN) at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP)is seeking a candidate for one postdoctoral position, to work with neutrino physics. The group is active on both long and short-baseline neutrino experiments of the Neutrino Division from Fermilab, including LArIAT, SBND, ProtoDUNE, and DUNE, with responsibilities varying from hardware R&D to data analyses. The successful applicant will develop Monte Carlo simulations, cross-sections calculations, and also studies of detector performance.

The GEFAN group has six researchers working on neutrino physics: Ernesto Kemp, Ettore Segreto, Ana Machado, Orlando Peres, Marcelo Guzzo, Pedro de Holanda, and several Master and Ph.D. students. The University of Campinas (UNICAMP) is a public university in the State of São Paulo. It is one of the top-ranking Brazilian universities as well as in Latin America.

The fellowship is provided by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP, http://www.fapesp.br/en/5385) which is a public foundation located in São Paulo, Brazil. The Post-Doctorate fellowship is tax-free and includes a monthly stipend and research contingency funds (15% of the total stipend of the duration of the fellowship). The stipend of the FAPESP post-doctoral fellowship is R$ 7,373.10 (Brazilian currency). The position is for a period of 6 months, with the potential for extension for up to two additional years. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in particle physics, or relevant subject by the time of the appointment A strong record of accomplishments in experimental particle physics Strong computing skills, including experience with ROOT, C++, and Python Experience with reconstruction techniques: particle tracks, energy, and particle identification Experience with the computing framework of large experimental collaborations will be considered a plus.
