The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) in Worcester, MA, is recruiting a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to full Professor level as the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development (AVP). Under the direction of the Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs, the AVP will be responsible for leading the faculty professional development initiatives for the University as well as the end-to-end execution of process improvement projects, quality initiatives, and other projects. The AVP will also be responsible for defining and executing enterprise-wide organizational development strategies, policies, and practices based on strategic goals and talent needs. The AVP will develop and implement initiatives to increase high potential talent recruitment, retention, succession planning, and engagement. The AVP will continue to lead existing programming such as the new hire orientation and onboarding, learning, leadership and professional development, and individual faculty mentoring with the goal of ensuring that the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is an Employer-of-Choice. 

A successful candidate will possess experience working in an academic medical institution with demonstrated skills in faculty mentoring, development, and coaching, as well as experience in identifying strategic gaps and/or opportunities within organizations as it relates to faculty and faculty development. PhD or advanced degree with equivalent faculty experience in a medical school environment is strongly preferred. This position will work closely with the Offices of Diversity and Inclusion and Health Equity to help promote and realize the strategic goals within the University’s IMPACT 2025 strategic plan.
