Job Description:

Applicants are sought for a postdoctoral or senior postdoctoral researcher to work in Professor Justin Wilson's group in computational and theoretical condensed matter physics. The subject areas include disordered and topological physics in- and out- of equilibrium as well as analog gravity. Typical systems include solid state materials, cold-atomic systems, and quantum circuits. A computational background and experience is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will be encouraged to collaborate with others at LSU such as Juana Moreno, Daniel Sheehey, William Shelton, and Ilya Vehkter.

Job responsibilities: (Postdoctoral) Performing research in the relevant fields, developing software used to simulate various physical systems, and publish papers and present at conferences; and assist with mentoring graduate students.

Job responsibilities: (Senior) The senior postdoctoral research will additionally be expected to lead independent research projects in theoretical and computational condensed matter. Expansion of the existing areas of expertise is ideal; mentor graduate students, play a key role in the development of software related to the primary scientific goals, and to publish papers and present at conferences.

Minimum qualifications: (Both Levels) PhD in Physics, materials science, engineering, chemistry, applied mathematics or computer science. (Senior level) Three years of related experience.

Preferred qualifications: Programming experience and experience with supercomputing clusters. Research experience with tensor networks or correlated phases.
