Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, at Chapman University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies.

Wilkinson College seeks candidates who can offer courses in, and direct, the undergraduate minor in Ethnic Studies. Teaching expectations include Introduction to Ethnic Studies, and area courses in either Asian American or Indigenous/American Indian studies. Additional courses on critical pedagogies for teaching Ethnic Studies, and community-based research for Ethnic Studies are desirable. Qualifications: Wilkinson College seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor in Ethnic Studies, who will also serve as the director of the minor. The department is interested in a dynamic scholar and instructor to help build this nascent minor.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies or related field at an accredited University at the time of hire, evidence of promising scholarly work in the field of Ethnic Studies, effective and innovative teaching, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will develop and direct the Ethnic Studies minor and teach foundational and elective courses in the minor. Tenure-track faculty members are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and are evaluated on their research/scholarly/creative activity, teaching, and service.
