The Cornell SC Johnson College of
Business at Cornell University invites applications from qualified individuals
for a tenure track faculty position for an economist, intended for placement in
the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management beginning July 2022.
Rank is open (assistant, associate and full professor) with a preference for experience
teaching Business Strategy or Microeconomics.
Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The
position will be based in Ithaca, NY.
Responsibilities: (1) high-quality academic research to be placed
in leading economics journals; (2) teaching graduate students, primarily MBA-level
Business Strategy or Microeconomics; and (3) service to the School, Area, College
and University.
Job Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD in Economics by the
time they start in the position. Preferred candidates will demonstrate high
standards of accomplishment in economics research, teaching, and service,
complementing and extending the strengths of the College of Business’s current
faculty and its vital and collegial community of scholars and practitioners.
The Cornell SC
Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three
Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the
Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the
Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan). Teaching across schools within
the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business may be possible. The Johnson School
offers MBA, Accelerated MBA, Executive MBA, and Ph.D. programs. Courses and programs are taught at Cornell’s
main Ithaca campus, the Cornell Tech campus in New York City, and other
locations across the globe.
The search committee will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis; the position will remain open until filled. Interviews for select candidates will take place by zoom.
