The Sanford
School of Public Policy at Duke University seeks applicants for a non-tenure
track position of Lecturer beginning July 1, 2022. The Lecturer will focus on
teaching core courses in public policy analysis and methodologies used by
social science practitioners, primarily at the undergraduate level. Candidates
must have a PhD in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics or a policy-relevant
discipline; at least four years post-PhD experience; and excellent teaching
references at the college or university level. We seek applicants who have an
applied policy focus in their teaching, research, and/or other professional
activities; excellent writing skills; an ability to teach large introductory classes,
and successfully train and mentor teaching assistants and writing coaches; and
whose primary interest is teaching and mentoring students. The Sanford School includes a full-time faculty of almost 70
and offers an undergraduate major, four master’s programs, and a Ph.D. program.
Current faculty members have degrees in a variety of disciplines including
demography, economics, history, law, medicine, philosophy, political science,
psychology/social psychology, public policy, public health/health policy, and
sociology. The Sanford School houses several interdisciplinary research centers
and offers degree-related programs and opportunities in Washington, China,
