INTRODUCTION The University of Connecticut's School of Pharmacy invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time (11-month appointment), non-tenure track position as the Director of Experiential Education (OEE) for the School of Pharmacy and Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor within the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The start date is flexible and, ideally, as soon as possible but no later than June 1, 2022. The School of Pharmacy is comprised of the Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Department of Pharmacy Practice’s 26 faculty members instruct the School’s approximately 200 undergraduate and 200 professional students and guide them to become competent and compassionate health professionals. Department faculty have extensive state and national pharmacy leadership experience including advocating for expanding pharmacist scope of practice. UConn Pharmacy won the 2021 AACP Weaver Award in recognition of excellence in public engagement and caring for the underserved. We are among the top 10 pharmacy practice departments nationally in publications and citations per faculty member. This non-track faculty’s primary role (80% of the time) at the School of Pharmacy is the directorship of the Office of Experiential Education (OEE). Founded in 1881, UConn is a Land Grant and Sea Grant institution and member of the Space Grant Consortium. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As faculty, you are expected to participate in departmental faculty teaching (10% of the time) with pedagogy judged to be strong. You will also participate in quality improvement scholarship (10% of the time). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate must possess a Pharm.D. degree and be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the State of Connecticut. The candidate will possess excellent written/verbal/interpersonal skills and have demonstrable previous teaching and leadership/management experience at a supervisory level. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Candidates who have one or more of the following will be preferred for this position: (1) previous experience leading an Office of Experiential Education or its equivalent in another School of Pharmacy; (2) three or more years of experience precepting students on introductory or advanced pharmacy practice experiences; (3) management of teams; (4) experience on committees with state or national pharmacy organizations. APPOINTMENT TERMS This is a full-time (11-month appointment), non-tenure track position as an Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor within the Department of Pharmacy Practice on the Storrs, CT campus. The start date is flexible and, ideally, as soon as possible but no later than June 1, 2022. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
