Position Description

The Valencia Experimental Group on Astroparticle Physics (VEGA, https://km3net.ific.uv.es/) at the Instituto de Fı́sica Corpuscular (IFIC - CSIC/University of Valencia, Spain) invites applications for a 3 years PhD position (4th year extension subject to fundings), to join the ANTARES (https://antares.in2p3.fr/) and KM3NeT (https://www.km3net.org/) Collaborations and participate in the analyses of searches for high energy cosmic neutrino sources in a multi-messenger fashion.

The successful candidate must hold a Masters’ degree in Physics before 27 December 2021, preferably with specialization in the astro-, particle or high-energy physics areas. Prior knowledge of analysis tools such as ROOT, C++ and Python will be appreciated, as well as a good command of English communication skills.

The work will consist of analysis and interpretation of data collected with the ANTARES and KM3NeT neutrino telescopes. The successful candidate will develop their analysis framework and present novel results to the collaboration and outside. They will also contribute to the data taking and help in the construction and calibration of both the ORCA and ARCA KM3NeT detectors. The possibility to participate in academic activities for undergraduate students is also contemplated.
