The Master of Social Work and School Counseling programs are located in an interdisciplinary department – Applied Human Development and Community Studies, which comprises graduate programs in Community Engagement, School Counseling, and Social Work, and an undergraduate program in Human Development & Human Services. The department is situated within the Winston School of Education and Social Policy. All programs in the department include experiential learning, practica, and/or and field experiences. A minimum of 51% of the workload will be in the MSW program. As a department hire, the individual in this position may be required to teach undergraduate courses at times.

The Master of Social Work Program is an on-ground advanced generalist program in candidacy with CSWE. The program is designed to offer both a part-time and full time and Advanced Standing Track for students. The Masters of School Counseling includes two pathways for licensure in school counseling and school social work/adjustment counseling. Grounded in the Catholic philosophy of the Augustinians, the institution is dedicated to a tradition of seeking truth through inquiry and dialogue; working with vulnerable and marginalized populations; and affirms the values of human diversity, self-determination, sustainability, and community and global solidarity.

Required qualifications:

● Masters in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program or equivalency as define by CSWE ● Doctoral degree (EdD. PhD) in relevant field ● Minimum 2-years post MSW experience in practice and/or teaching in the field of social work ● Experience working in a school setting or specifically with schools as part of their community based work.. ● Availability to teach in-person and online in the late afternoon and evening ● Confidence and skill teaching and advising adult learners

Preferred qualifications:

● LCSW/ LICSW preferred for clinical practice classes ● Licensure as a school social worker by a state department of education. ● A doctorate in Human Development, Counseling Psychology, School Counseling, or Social Work. ● Experience working with and/or teaching about multicultural populations, immigrant populations, or underserved communities
