The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMCMS) seeks to fill a part-time faculty clinical psychologist position on its Student Counseling Service (SCS) within the Department of
Psychiatry, at our Worcester, MA campus.
SCS provides evidence-based assessment, psychotherapy, and medication management of
mental health issues to students of UMMS. SCS is a team of Board-certified psychiatrists
and licensed clinical and health psychologists with specialty training who work together in a
team model and meet weekly for case conference.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D., have training and experience in
evidence-based psychotherapy models, and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a
psychologist in Massachusetts. Availability for some evening and/or weekend hours is
strongly preferred. Training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and/or in evidence-based
psychosocial treatment for eating disorder are desirable but not required.
Diversity, equity and inclusion are integral to the commitment of the Department and
University. Accordingly, the Department seeks qualified candidates who can contribute to
racial equity, diversity and inclusion through service, mentorship, teaching and scholarship.
Further, the Department is keenly interested in diversifying its faculty and staff and
encourages applications from diverse candidates.
Candidates from historically underrepresented group(s) in higher education and medicine are encouraged to apply. Candidates who possess personal characteristics that might be considered as diversifying elements among the clinical team and the larger psychiatry faculty at UMMS are invited to identify themselves during the application process.
