Senior Scientist - Neurodegeneration (Associate or Full Professor)

The Duke University School of Medicine and the Department of Neurology at Duke is seeking a senior scientist or clinician-scientist involved in the basic science of neurodegeneration to join The Center for Neurodegeneration and Neurotherapeutics in the Department of Neurology at Duke. It is expected that the successful candidate will also occupy an endowed chair with significant resources to shape the future of research in the field. The successful candidate will complement and strengthen an already strong dementia research program, with robust collaborations from many clinical and basic science programs at Duke. Amongst resources available is the Bryan Brain Bank with over 1000 brain specimens, a strong clinical trials infrastructure in dementia, an NIH funded ADRC and many PI’s involved in the field.

Duke is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. Applications are desired from individuals whose expertise and outstanding credentials in neurodegeneration would qualify them to make transformational contributions to the field. The Triangle Area of North Carolina, which includes Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is consistently rated among the best areas in the country to live. With its array of family-friendly activities, exceptional schools and universities, premier shopping, and Research Triangle Park’s high-tech research and development center, Raleigh/Durham has something for everyone.
